If notice of cancellation is given more than 48 hours before the appointment, a full refund will be provided unless it is agreed that the fee can be retained by Natelie Henriques to be applied towards the payment for your next appointment. If notice of cancellation is given less than 48 hours before the appointment, or if you fail to attend your appointment, the fee for that session will not be refunded.

Natelie Henriques will make every effort to provide advance notice regarding any future unavailability or the need to cancel a future appointment. If she has to cancel an appointment, a full refund will be provided unless it is agreed that the fee can be retained by Natelie Henriques to be applied towards the fee for your next appointment.

Discovery Session

The purpose of a Discovery Session is for Natelie Henriques to gain a comprehensive understanding of your current difficulties, history, and therapy expectations. This helps in determining the most suitable approach to assist you in reaching your therapy goals. Assessments will take approximately 60 minutes. Following the assessment, a decision will be made regarding the appropriate next step, which may involve offering therapy or referring the client to another healthcare professional. If an alternative approach is necessary, a discussion will be held with the client to explore access options.

Confidentiality

All discussions within therapy sessions are confidential. However, there may be specific circumstances where the duty of confidentiality may need to be overridden, requiring Natelie Henriques to comply with her professional obligations. This may include situations where there are concerns about the risk of harm occurring to the client or any other individual, or in response to a court order.

Neither Natelie Henriques nor the client will be permitted to record therapy sessions without the prior written consent of both parties. For further information on how information about you is protected in line with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), please refer to her Privacy Policy at www.stepstherapy.co.uk.

Online Video Zoom Appointments

All video appointments will be conducted through 'Zoom'. Before each session, you will receive an email with a link and password to access the call. Zoom is a teleconferencing program, similar to Skype, that allows the therapist and client to see each other using their computers or mobile devices via the internet.

The benefits of using Zoom include:

- End-to-end encryption for session confidentiality

- Screen sharing for handouts and education during sessions

- Browser-based access without the need for program downloads

While Zoom is generally secure, it is recommended to not sign in via Facebook and to ensure that the Zoom app on your mobile phone is updated to the most recent version. Additionally, find a quiet and private space for your online appointment.

Contact Outside of Sessions

Outside of therapy sessions, Natelie Henriques can be contacted via email or telephone. She aims to respond to any contact within 48 hours (excluding weekends). There may be occasional unavailability due to other commitments or leave, but she will always set up email and telephone responses to inform you of this.

If you happen to see Natelie Henriques outside of therapy sessions, she will not approach or speak with you to maintain client confidentiality unless you approach her.

Please note that Natelie Henriques is unable to provide a crisis service at any time. If you feel you may be a risk to yourself or others, it is important to seek help promptly. During working hours, you can contact your GP or call NHS 111 for urgent mental health support. Additionally, there are helplines available, such as SANEline and Samaritans, for emotional support and guidance.
